“Paris mon amour”

I like to go to bookshops to look through books. Recently, I went to the section talking about Paris that I love so much. I was amazed by the number of books talking about the City of Light!

I discovered the book "Paris mon amour" by Jean-Claude Gautrand. It is not a novel, but a collection of black and white pictures. I love photography, and I am happy to be able to admire in "Paris mon amour", the works of the greatest photographers of all times like Henri Cartier-Bresson or Robert Doisneau! The author has gathered in this album, Parisian photographs of the last two centuries...

You will discover "the ordinary and the exceptional, the small and the great history of Paris, in the parks and gardens of the capital, from boulevards to alleys, under passages or arcades, in bistros or nightclubs". A book not to be missed!

 "Paris mythique”

"Paris mythique" is also a collection of photographs. In this book, you will find 100 legendary photos of Paris! I like this book because it is very visual, and also serves as a decorative object in my living room with its beautiful cover!

Whether you are a professional, an amateur or even a novice in photography, you will be amazed by this book! You will be able to admire the famous photographs such as the lovers of Willy Ronis or the fashion girls of Franck Horvath and William Klein...

Christmas Tree

Christmas Tree

A strong tradition

Happiness and gift, smiling children, snowy days, Christmas is coming!

This period of nostalgia is a time for sharing, a family tradition that reminds me my childhood. What I principally remember was an atmosphere created by warm lights contrasting with sparkling snow, the scent of fir-trees and the wax of candles.

During this time, I was living magical and unique moments. I use to go buying the most beautiful Christmas tree with my father.

Our tree was decorated with a thousand colours, light, watching baubles and colourful garlands. The Christmas tree gave us a nice warm feeling in our house.

An historic origin

The Christmas tree is certainly the symbol of these days of festivities.

There are many legends associated with its origins. To recall its history, it is necessary to go up very far in time. Indeed, we were already talking about a tree between 2000 and 1200 BC.

December 24th was recalled as the Renaissance day of sun, according to the Celtic lunar calendar. At that time, a tree was associated with each lunar month. Spruce was the tree of the 24th December, a symbol of life thanks to its green needles resistant to cold.

In the eleventh century, the Christmas Tree, decorated with red apples referring to Adam and Eve, symbolized the tree of paradise.

The custom appeared in Alsace around 1521 and the fir tree was christened for the first time "Arbre de Noël” or “Sapin de Noël” In the days before Christmas, from a traditional point of view, the fir branches were cut to decorate the festive tables. Thereafter, it was decorated with candles, paper roses, apples and even some biscuits.

I love this time of the year so much, to me Christmas is one of those precious moments to forget the daily grind and to remember what is important in life, love and friendship.

Literature,
le prix Goncourt

Le prix Goncourt

Writing or the art of highlighting words is a recognised artistic discipline that has a very strong reputation in France.

Indeed, the influence of great French writers but also the scope that words can have played a major role in the establishment of French society today. A large number of famous writers in the world are French and also the greatest literary distinctions.

One of them, Le Prix Goncourt, is always considered to be the ultimate consecration that a writer can obtain. This reputation can be explained both by his history and by the quality of the works awarded.

Being a great passionate reader of literature, I am one of those readers who buy the winning book every year and I’m never disappointed.

Youth Remembrance

Is a family habit because it’s comes from my father. Indeed, during my childhood, I remember that he always went to his favorite bookstore, Le Regard Moderne. An unusual and crazy place in which piles of books replace the walls. It’s good to go in this store to buy classic works of literature or to find rare and much less famous pearls. He went there at the beginning of November to buy this famous novel that won Le Prix Goncourt and I reassure you... a copy was always reserved for him!

A family tradition that I keep alive even if I confess to buying this book in a big store and not in the bookstore dear to my father.

Reading the winning book is therefore of particular significance to me and always represents an immense joy that is a pleasure to enjoy every year. Between writing skills and nostalgia for the past, I will continue to buy Le Prix Goncourt for many years to come...

Maison&Objet
Showroom 2020

A reference

Design is a harmonization of the human environment. It represents the progress, the conceptualization and creation of new things.

The design, I discover and rediscover it every year at MAISON & OBJET PARIS, an international showroom dedicated to the art of living, decoration and design. At the Villepinte Exhibition Center, from January 17 to 21, 2020, young designers will exhibit their latest creations.

Imagination and innovation will be at the rendezvous, unique and tailor-made objects will be unveiled to astonish the world and your eyes yet once again.

The art of sublimating

Chic, cozy, trendy, quirky, urban, exotic! The tastes in decoration differ according to people but, our houses are decorated for the sole purpose of feeling well at home.

The M&O Showroom is a source of inspiration and to sublimate my interior I find everything I need: decorations, lighting, accessories, and original creations!

The Scandinavian style is the one I prefer. I particularly appreciate the refined, functional and warm interiors. This Nordic style is inseparable from the history of design and with its natural materials, pastel colors, geometric shapes, it gives our interiors a reassuring side!

The Maison & Objet show drives me to creation and innovation but it's not my only source of inspiration. I like to go to the hotel Le Tourville to let me carry a decor with clean lines. Elegance and refinement are the hallmarks of this Parisian boutique hotel that I invite you to discover.
