The Cité Véron

A GREEN IMPASSE

My dear readers,

Let me tell you about a Parisian impasse that I love: the Cité Véron! This small narrow alley with charming buildings is located at 94 boulevard de Clichy in the 18th arrondissement.

Narrow and sunny, the Cité Verdon offers us a peaceful and calm moment, the bucolic is at the rendezvous!

It is in this pretty impasse, a few steps from the Moulin Rouge that lived the writers Boris Vian and Jacques Prévert! At 6 bis were the lodges of the Moulin Rouge artists. In 1953, Boris Vian moved to the third floor with his wife and then a year later Jacques Prévert joined his friend and moved below Boris Vian’s apartment.

A MYTHICAL FIGURE

Boris Vian marked the intellectual and artistic life of the post-war period. The famous writer, author, singer and musician left behind him a modern and unusual work.

The reading of the Froth on the Daydream, his famous novel written in 1947, confirmed to me that the literary maturity is acquired little by little! The first time I read it, I found the story crazy and strange and a few years later my reading was a real pleasure.

The novel, which did not have any success during the author's lifetime, is now a classic of French literature. With a beautiful poetry, Boris Vian offers us one of the most beautiful love stories of literature!

My dear readers, I invite you to discover without delay this masterpiece that will immerse you into an offbeat universe!

See you soon!
