A HISTORICAL MONUMENT

Paris, the most beautiful city in the world, has many monuments, among which the Sacré-Coeur welcomes more than 10.5 million visitors every year. It is one of the most emblematic monuments of Paris.

Perched at 130 meters at the top of the Montmartre hill, it offers a magnificent panoramic view of the capital. With its 500 steps and being one of the only free monuments in Paris, Montmartre has conquered the hearts of French people and tourists.

WHAT TO DO IN MONTMARTRE ?

Visit Montmartre during a stay in Paris is essential. The XVIIIth district has kept a village soul and an artistic charm. The Place du Tertre, a mythical place of Montmartre, is a popular place for tourists. You can have your portrait taken or caricatured by one of the talented painters present on this square.

On the place des Abbesses, you will find many restaurants, bars of charms which you must discover. Guided tours are available, such as the Promotrain, the little train of Montmartre.

The ascent of the hill of Montmartre remains romantic. For the more vigorous, don't hesitate to climb its 500 steps while admiring the view. For those who are not so inclined, take the funicular to the top of the hill through the gardens. A visit to the Basilica of the Sacred Heart is a must during your stay, as this Catholic religious monument contains magical stained glass windows and sculptures. You could also visit the Montmartre Museum including a tasting of Montmartre wines.
